Our Roots
FWCOS is a nonprofit plant society dedicated to the preservation and conservation of orchids.
We’re proud to be a 100% volunteer operated nonprofit.
As Florida’s first orchid society, the Florida West Coast Orchid Society was founded in 1942 and proudly affiliated with the American Orchid Society in 1947. For more than eight decades, we’ve been celebrating, sharing, and growing a love for orchids within our community.
Our society meets monthly on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings and events are open to the public - no membership is required to attend.
We’d love to have you join us!
Membership is open to everyone who enjoys growing, learning about, and appreciating orchids, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned grower.
We are proud to be an affiliated society of the American Orchid Society.
